Read, read, read. Read everything - trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master. Read! You'll absorb it. Then write. If it is good, you'll find out. If it is not, throw it out the window.

Free: Win a Copy of Beginning CSS: Cascading Style Sheets for Web Design
Beginning CSS: Cascading Style Sheets for Web Design
by Richard York is a great book for any web developer looking to thoroughly understand CSS.
This book was required pre-reading for my latest Technical Editing task - I'm editing Mr. York's newest book. So in the spirit of spring, de-cluttering, and giving. I'd like to give this book away. This book is like new with a couple minor dings (from an airport fiasco), it is in full color (like all good design books should be), and it's free!

Hi, Adam. I just ran across your page from a comment on Jean-Paul Boodhoo's site. Thanks for running such a generous contest offer with this book.

This would definitely be helpful, I've pretty much only taken a class with 3 months of CSS in it, and that was 2 years ago so my knowledge of it has kind of faded. Sounds like something that could definitely be useful, Thanks again Adam!

Hi Adam Sir,
I first met you on http://www.forums.asp.net when you were answering the CSS "media=print" problem. Man that helped me a lot. Even I also asked you a question about that. I think you were too busy to answer that. Anyways I have now moved on with my work. I have bookmarked your site and will be a regular visitor.
Thanks
Prashant Vedpathak.
