Read, read, read. Read everything - trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master. Read! You'll absorb it. Then write. If it is good, you'll find out. If it is not, throw it out the window.

TechNet Monthly - Exchange Server: Exchange 12 Overview (Ottawa)
I attended my first Ottawa
TechNet
event today where
Rick Clause
demonstrated the many new features and enhancements of the soon to be released
Exchange Server 2007
.
I found the following highlights most interesting:
The
Unified Messaging Communications
which allows voicemail and fax to be attached to email messages when integrated with Exchange Server .
The introduction of an Edge Server for better communication hygiene, transport, and security control
The plethora of commands for the
Exchange Management Shell
Rick is an excellent communicator and presenter; I look forward to his future events.
